My Ladyboy Date Transgender Dating Site – Did I Get Lucky?

Here’s a quick review of My Ladyboy Date. This is a dating site aimed squarely at guys who are just interested in finding a ladyboy bride (or girlfriend).

First up, the good thing is that this site is 100% legit, I have met the owner in real life. Another big plus is that the owner and developer of the site has a ladyboy girlfriend, so he has a unique insight into ladyboys and their eccentricities.

The site was developed specifically as a ladyboy dating site, so it has a lot of features specifically aimed at guys seeking ladyboys (and of course ladyboys seeking guys). For example, you can see if a ladyboy is interested in being a top/bottom (or is versatile), plus you can see the pre-op, post-op ladyboys and those who are just femboys. There are a few transvestites on there as well if you’d like to meet one.

I once had an embarrassing episode on Thai Love Links when I was chatting to a ladyboy through the site and they told me they had no cock! Well I know that post-op ladyboys are often the most feminine looking of all the ladyboy types, but they’re not for everyone.

As to the site itself, well My Ladyboy Date is pretty much like any other online dating site. Sign up, write your profile, upload some photos and check out who else is on there.

The site had a bit of a problem with scammers at first, but mostly they were those annoying African chain letter writers. The ladyboys themselves are OK if you bear in mind that ladyboys need money and while some have legit jobs, they are generally discriminated against, even in supposedly ladyboy friendly Thailand.

Did I Get Lucky on My Ladyboy Date?

I was fortunate to open my My Ladyboy Date account when I was living in Bangkok. So obviously I was in a great place to go out and meet any ladyboys that I found through the site.

One downside though is that there weren’t as many Thai ladyboys on the site as there were Filipino ladyboys. But that’s always going to be the same on any Asian dating site really.

But there were enough Thai ladyboys to justify upgrading to full membership of the site. Things are even better now as the site has matured and the membership base has grown significantly. At the last count there were well over 13,000 tgirls on the site!

I emailed quite a number of ladyboys through the site. The quality of ladyboy member could not be faulted here. It was a shame I started using the site quite late into my 6 months spent living in Bangkok. I never actually dated anyone from this site, but I’ll give it another go some day. I actually wanted to go to Thailand for Chinese New Year (I’m now living in China). But I really fracked up the flight bookings due to increased credit card security and flight prices inside China itself being a total rip-off.

Well back to MyLadyboyDate and I was also impressed with how quick members were to respond to my emails and interests. As the new kid on the block, it was so nice to see that the members are actually making good use of this site. I got a similar response when I logged into the site the other day.

One warning I have is that there are quite a few ladyboy members on the site who make their living from being hookers. But one the whole I found that the ladyboys who were in this line of business were quite honest about it. In any case a lot of guys are more interested in ultra-short term relationships with ladyboys/interested in testing the waters so to speak.

Unfortunately after chatting to a lot of ladyboys on the site I never actually got any dates out of it. For one thing I’m quite picky. But I also found that it was surprisingly hard to get dates with anyone in Bangkok. The locals work very long hours, and bad traffic/poor public transport infrastructure make arranging dates a logistical nightmare! This is something to bear in mind if you’re thinking of dating ladyboys (or girls) in Thailand. In my first fortnight in Bangkok I only managed one single date. That would have sucked so much if that was the entire duration of my holiday.

Alternatives to My Ladyboy Date

I’ll point out here that MyLadyboyDate is really only good for Asian ladyboys. The majority of the members live in Asia. So if you want to meet them irl then you’ll have to go to Asia (usually Thailand or the Philippines).

So how about meeting ladyboys in your own country?

If you want to do this then use the sister site MyTranssexualDate. This is a better site to use if you’re interested in tgirls who don’t necessarily live in Asia. Not only do you save on the airfare, but you might actually meet a tgirl in your own city/country.

The longest established Asian ladyboy dating site is Ladyboy Kisses. The site’s showing it’s age and the design is horrible! Still, it has the second biggest selection of Asian ladyboy profiles of any ladyboy dating site. It might be a good one to use if you’re European, as the owners are from Germany.

Asian Love Connections also has a good selection of ladyboy profiles – around 600 at last count. And unlike the other sites mentioned here it’s actually FREE!

You can also find ladyboys on non-ladyboy specific dating sites. I had a lot of success chatting to ladyboys on Thai Love Links (now Thai Cupid). You’ll also find a lot on Filipino Cupid. The downside with these sites is that transsexuals have to register as either male and female, there’s no 3rd gender option.

So you’ll have to hunt for the ladyboys in amongst the male and female members.

I had some awkward moments on Thai Love Links when I accused women of being ladyboys (they told me they weren’t!) plus if you allow guys to see your profile (which you have to if you want emails from ladyboys) then you’ll get hit on by men who think you’re gay. You should definitely read this ladyboy dating faux-pas.

I also had problems with getting hit on by gay guys – one of the drawbacks of saying you’re interested in both genders on these sites.

Avoid DateInAsia – they’re fairly anti-ladyboy and periodically purge the site of transsexual profiles. And I’ve never – yes NEVER – had a real life date from somebody I chatted to on DateInAsia. More recently I couldn’t even re-register for the site as the registration page was broken (or just doesn’t work properly in China).

While living in Bangkok I also found lots of ladyboys through WeChat. Mobile dating apps are worth a look, but they’re usually better if you’re on the ground in Thailand or the Philippines. I guess Tinder might be worth a go as well, although it’s not trans-friendly.
